These are not activities that you have to do they are here to help you and enhance the textbook. Also they are resource for teaching and learning just a little bit more. In this Prezi you will see different activities and book that you can use and do with your child to help them learn more as we work our way through the chapter. Presi are just like a power point but they are more interactive, so all you have to so is click the start button and it will take you through the prezi.
Community Resource: North Olmsted City Hall this is where you can find more information out about the city and the cities past, present, and future
Media Resource: The video on Community Helps will show the students what the people in the community do for the community and how important there job is. Along with they will be learning about people that help out in the community.
Fiction Book: Weird Ohio: Your Travel Guide to Ohio's Local Legends and Best kept Secrets By: Loreen . This book is about everything weird in Ohio and the students will love learning about the different fact and what is in Ohio they never knew existed.
Nonfiction Book: Water Buffalo Days: Growing Up in Vietnam By: Quang Nhuong Huynh The book is about a young boy growing up in the hills of central Vietnam, Nhuong’s companion was Tank, the family water buffalo. When bullies harassed Nhuong, Tank sent them packing. When a wild tiger threatened the entire village, Tank defeated it. He led the herd and adopted a lonely puppy. Tank was Nhuong’s best friend.

Other: Take the students to the local police station or fire station to learn more about what they do for the city and so the kids can interact with them and ask them questions. You can even have the police or fire people come in and talk to the students about safety and what they do for the community.
